Each piece of pottery is thrown on a potters wheel the old
fashion way, one at a time. The pottery is fired at 2435 degrees
Fahrenheit. At these temperatures, the pieces have gone beyond their
static nature, and are now volatile, beginning to turn into gas. This
is what gives the pottery its uniqueness. This is why each piece is
individual unto itself. I am the only person I know that goes to these
temperatures on purpose.
On the website there are different objects that
you may be interested in. Ranging from vases, to sculptures, and
murals. I would be happy to recreate as close as possible that which
you are interested in. With both of us knowing that the coloring is
going to be close to what you see on the website, maybe even better!
After a piece of pottery is thrown, it dries from
3 days to a week, then trimed, cleaned, and signed. Each piece goes
through two 48 hour cycles of fireing. First of which is called a
bisque firing to take chemical water out of the clay making it
pourous, ready to recieve the glaze. Then the pottery is
removed from the kilm, glazed on the inside, and left to set overnight.
The next day each piece recieves three to four coats of glaze. Then
returned to the kilm for another 48 hour fireing to yellow-white heat.
The same temperature steel is smelted at.
When the firing is over and has cooled down, the
pieces are removed from the kilm and the bottoms are smoothed
with a silicon pollishing stone. Then and then only are the pieces
ready to be viewed and sent. If you should order a piece, there needs
to be four weeks to six weeks delivery time.
The general price range from the very
smallest miniature vases of $20 to $300 for the very largest.
Sculptural pieces are consitdered to be more. The website is more for
your viewing pleasure than for anythin else.
